Ursula’s practice focuses on German, European and international trademark law. Her particular specialties include the designing of trademark filing strategies worldwide and the handling of proceedings before the German Trademark and Patent Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
She is particularly interested in issues relating to famous marks, including survey evidence, and proof of acquired distinctiveness of non-traditional marks. In addition to trademark prosecution and enforcement, she focuses on anti-counterfeiting, particularly border seizure proceedings. She coordinates corresponding infringement proceedings in more than 50 countries worldwide. Since 2008 Ursula Stelzenmüller has been serving on various INTA Committees, including the Famous & Well-Known Marks Committee, the Bulletin Committee and the Trademark Office Practices Committee.
